Butterfly was built in 1948 by Anker & Jensen and bought by Lars Lynges who raced her as N192 in the Oslo area. Lars moved to Seattle in 1951 and brought his Dragon with him with the intent of starting a new sailing class on the West Coast. In all, ten Dragons were shipped to Seattle and were given sail numbers starting at US10. The assumption was that there were about 10 on the East Coast. There was no National Authority at that time to manage sail numbers. To promote Dragons, Lars competed in Seattle area races, as well as sailing his Dragon to Vancouver for a PIYA Regatta on English Bay. Butterfly was owned by various sailors in the Seattle area over the years. She is now owned by the Hendersen family and Kris and Eric (two well known Seattle sailors) have restored her. She was racing in the Seattle Duck Dodge in 2023.
