Troll of Trondheim USA40

The original owner of USA40 was W. H. Jaynes of Seattle, WA. Troll of Trondheim was competitively raced in the 50s and 60s by Don Blair who was a several-time winner of the Le Bon Marche trophy for Dragons, raced during the annual Seafair. The August 1954 National Geographic had an article about the builder, Kolbjornsvik, and mentions that the Dragon in the picture is being shipped to a sailor in the Puget Sound area. There were several Kolbjornsvik Dragons shipped to Seattle at that time, but it’s nice to think this might be Troll. In 1988 she was found abandoned in a field without a trailer and tied to a tree, outside of Everett, WA. Her mast and boom were missing but were later discovered in Port Townsend. In 1992 she was moved to Polson, Montana for a total restoration by her current owner.
